Perez Hilton says his sources were wrong about Katy Perry and Russell Brand making out

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton had the Internet all aflutter when he claimed his sources witnessed divorced couple Katy Perry and Russell Brand making out at a party. But Hilton has since taken to his blog to debunk the rumors and apologize to the singer and funnyman.

According to Perez Hilton, sources came forward Tuesday afternoon claiming to have spotted the “Wide Awake” singer and Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor making out. Less than an hour after the alleged breaking news, Hilton issued a new post stating that his sources were 100 percent wrong.

He has since deleted the original post.

Brand and Perry’s divorce became official last July after just 14 months of marriage.

Shortly thereafter, shock-jock Howard Stern pressed the Brand X host about his crumbled marriage to the pop princess, to which he admitted that although he loves her, distance was the main culprit in their split. However, he later commented on the marriage calling it a “drag” saying, “That marriage was shaky from the get-go, before I’d even got off the elephant.”
